WHAT IS ART WITH A HEART?

 

Art with a Heart is a nonprofit organization that uses art therapy to assist people in reaching their full potential. 

 

Mission: Art with a Heart's mission is to enhance the lives of people through visual art. 

 

Art with a Heart brings its 7,500 visual art classes to abused, neglected and abandoned children; homeless people; battered women and their children; pregnant adolescents; mentally and physically disabled adults; low-income senior citizens; elementary, middle, and high school students; youth in after-school programs; and children receiving long-term health care.

 

Since 2000, Art with a Heart has provided Baltimore's underserved children, youth, and adults with access to positive and productive programming, caring and nurturing adults on a consistent basis, and the chance to embrace new ideas and skills in a safe and structured environment.

 

As part of my internship experience I was to complete a minimum of 120 hours on site. The links for the photos and projects above provide you with visuals about my journey with this amazing organization.
